Cheapest times to fly to Cairo
- Eid al Fitr and Eid al Adha: fares jump in both directions; book as early as you can.
- UAE school summer break, from early July: outbound fares peak, and the return in late August too.
- UAE winter break in December: a second, smaller peak.
For holiday dates, book six to eight weeks ahead or more. Midweek flights are often cheaper than Thursday and Friday departures.

Egypt visa for UAE residents who are not Egyptian
Other UAE residents need a visa, and the route depends on nationality. Others must apply through the embassy in advance.

Some fares allow date changes for a fee plus any fare difference; the lowest may not allow changes at all. We show the rules before you pay and handle changes if plans move.

Flying from Dubai (DXB) instead
Dubai has more daily flights to Cairo, and on busy dates a fare from DXB can be cheaper. Add the cost and time of getting to Dubai before deciding. When are flights to Cairo most expensive?
Fares rise around Eid, UAE school holidays and the summer break, when many families fly home together. Booking well ahead of those weeks makes the biggest difference. Outside them, fares are usually steadier.
