Two ways to get a new UAE visit visa when yours runs out
The first route is an inside-country change. The new visit visa is issued while the visitor stays in the UAE, with a status change fee added, so there are no flights to book. The second is A2A, short for airport to airport: the visitor flies to a nearby country, waits at the airport while the new visa is issued, then flies back.

Inside-country visa change: who qualifies and what it costs
Many visitors can get a new visit visa without leaving, but not all.
The cost is the government fee for the new visa plus a status change fee, and our service fee on top.

A2A visa change: when you have to exit and come back
If an inside-country change is not allowed for your visa type or nationality, or costs more than two short flights, A2A is the alternative.
The visitor must not fly back before the new visa is issued. We send it on WhatsApp as soon as it is approved. We book the flight tickets from Abu Dhabi at the same time, so the dates line up. If the visitor would rather spend a few days in Oman than wait at the airport, they will need an Oman visa for UAE residents or the correct entry for their passport, which we check first.

Extending a visit visa instead of changing it
An extension keeps the same visa and adds days to it; a change issues a new visa. If your visa type can be extended and you only need a little more time, an extension is often the simpler choice. If it cannot, a change is the way to stay legally.

How long each route takes and what to do on the last day
A2A takes the time of two flights plus the wait at the airport. Start at least 7 days before the expiry date shown on the visa, so there is time to switch routes if one is refused.

Overstay fines and how to avoid them
An overstay can also make future UAE visas harder to get.
- Note the expiry date on the visa itself, not the date the visitor arrived
- Start the change or extension at least a week before
- Keep the new visa approval on your phone until the old one is replaced
- If the visa has already expired, message us the copy straight away and we tell you the fine and the fastest way to clear it
