Who needs a Schengen visa from the UAE
Your passport decides whether you need a Schengen visa, not your UAE residence.
A Schengen visa covers short trips for a holiday, a family visit, business meetings or an event. One visa lets you move between the member countries during its validity, so Paris, Interlaken and Milan can sit on the same trip. It is not a work or study permit, and it does not guarantee entry: border officers can still ask for your return ticket, hotel bookings, insurance and money for the stay.
Your UAE residence still matters. If your residence visa is being renewed, sort that out first.

Choosing the right country to apply to
You do not choose the embassy by how easy it looks.

Count your nights
Your application goes to the country where most of your nights fall. Five nights in Italy and three in France means Italy.

If the nights are equal
Apply to the country you enter first. Spain and Portugal at four nights each, landing in Madrid, means Spain.

Match the bookings
Your flights, hotels and day plan must show the same route. A file for France with most hotel nights in Switzerland raises questions.

Appointments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and how long a decision takes
Abu Dhabi residents can usually attend either city if the embassy allows it.
Slots fill fast before the summer school holidays and before Christmas and New Year. In those months, look for an appointment six to eight weeks before you fly.

Flight reservation, hotel booking and insurance for your file
Most embassies ask to see how you will travel and where you will sleep, but they do not ask you to pay for everything before the visa is decided. People often search for a "dummy ticket for Schengen visa". What we provide is not a dummy or a made-up document.
