Switzerland package prices from the UAE
Switzerland costs more on the ground than most places UAE residents visit, so the package price depends heavily on the hotel grade, the number of mountain excursions and the month. The table shows starting prices per person, sharing a double room. The land-only column covers everything except international flights.

Prices rise in the UAE summer holidays and at Eid, when Gulf families fill Lucerne and Interlaken, and again over Christmas and New Year. May, June and September usually give the same scenery for less. If your dates are flexible, compare our cheapest tour packages this month before you decide.

Switzerland uses the Swiss franc, not the euro. Cards and phone payments work almost everywhere, including mountain stations and lake boats. A small amount of cash helps for tips and village cafes. Halal restaurants are easy to find in Zurich, Geneva and Interlaken, where Gulf visitors have long been regulars; in smaller towns, fish and vegetarian dishes are the simple choice.
03
6-night itinerary: Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken and Jungfraujoch
This route uses trains for every leg, so you never drive and you move your luggage only twice.

- 01
Day 1: Arrive in Zurich
The train from Zurich Airport reaches the main station in about 15 minutes. Check in, then walk Bahnhofstrasse to the lake and the old town lanes of the Niederdorf. A Lake Zurich boat trip is included on the Swiss Travel Pass.
- 02
Day 2: Rhine Falls, then train to Lucerne
A morning trip north to the Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen, with a boat to the rock in the middle of the falls. In the afternoon, the train to Lucerne takes under an hour. Evening walk across the Chapel Bridge and along the lake.
- 03
Day 3: Mount Titlis
Train to Engelberg, about 45 minutes, then the cable cars to Titlis: the last stage is the Rotair, which turns as it climbs. Snow all year, the Ice Flyer chairlift, the glacier cave and the Cliff Walk suspension bridge. Back in Lucerne for dinner.
- 04
Day 4: Lake Lucerne and the scenic train to Interlaken
See the Lion Monument and the old town in the morning, or take the boat and cog railway up Pilatus or Rigi.
- 05
Day 5: Jungfraujoch
The full day in the mountains. Trains climb via Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen to Kleine Scheidegg, then through the Eiger to Jungfraujoch at 3,454 m, the highest railway station in Europe. Ice Palace, the Sphinx terrace and the Aletsch Glacier. Start early for clearer weather.
- 06
Day 6: Lakes Thun and Brienz
A slow day on the water. Take the boat from Interlaken across Lake Thun to Spiez and its castle, or across Lake Brienz to the Giessbach Falls. Or go up Harder Kulm by funicular for a view over both lakes at sunset.
- 07
Day 7: Fly home
Allow enough time for check-in and tax refund forms on shopping.
For 5 nights, we drop day 6 and keep two nights in Interlaken. For 8 nights, add two nights in Zermatt for the Matterhorn and the Gornergrat railway, or two nights in Montreux on Lake Geneva via the GoldenPass line. Families with young children often prefer 3 nights in one base and day trips from there, which means fewer hotel moves.

The pass does not cover everything. Jungfraujoch and Titlis are discounted rather than free, and the panoramic trains need a seat reservation on top. We work out whether the pass or point-to-point tickets cost less for your exact route, and tell you which before you pay.
Glacier Express
Zermatt to St. for the seat reservation.

Zermatt and the Gornergrat
A car-free village below the Matterhorn. The Gornergrat cog railway climbs to a viewpoint facing the mountain and its glaciers.
GoldenPass and Lake Geneva
From Lucerne to Interlaken over the Brünig Pass, then on to Montreux through Gstaad. Chillon Castle sits on the lake just outside Montreux. Easy to add for a French-speaking finish to the trip.
Bernina Express
From Chur or St. Moritz over the Bernina Pass to Tirano in Italy, past glaciers and the Brusio spiral viaduct.
05
Paris and Switzerland in one trip
Paris and Switzerland is one of the routes UAE travellers ask us for most.

- 01
Days 1 to 3: Paris
City tour, the Eiffel Tower second level and a River Seine cruise, then a day at Disneyland Paris or on your own.
- 02
Day 4: Paris to Switzerland
By coach on guided packages, through the Alsace countryside, or by high-speed train on independent trips. Check in to your hotel in central Switzerland.
- 03
Days 5 and 6: Titlis, Lucerne and Interlaken
Mount Titlis with the Rotair and Ice Flyer, a Lucerne orientation tour, then a day in Interlaken with Jungfraujoch as an option.
- 04
Day 7: Black Forest, Rhine Falls and Zurich
A morning in Germany's Black Forest with a cuckoo clock workshop, the Rhine Falls with a boat ride, and a Zurich city tour. Overnight in Zurich.
- 05
Day 8: Lindt and fly home
The Lindt chocolate visit if your flight time allows, then the airport transfer.
You can run the route the other way, starting in Zurich and flying home from Paris, which suits shoppers who want Paris last. For more combinations, such as Paris, Amsterdam and Switzerland in 8 nights or Paris, Switzerland and Italy in 11, see our Europe tour packages from UAE. If Europe is too far for the time you have, our Turkey tour packages from UAE give you mountains, lakes and a big city on a shorter flight.
06
Switzerland for couples and families
Switzerland works for both, with different hotels and a different pace. Couples tend to want lake views, fewer hotel moves and a special mountain day. Families want short train legs, snow the children can touch and a pool for the evenings.

- 01
For couples
A lake-view room in Lucerne or on Lake Brienz, a private transfer between towns, and Jungfraujoch or the Glacier Express as the big day. Add Paris for two or three nights at the start.
Honeymoon packages - 02
For families
Two bases rather than four, family rooms or apartments, and the Swiss Family Card on trains. Titlis is the easy snow day: the cable cars do the work and the glacier cave is short. Children usually remember the Rhine Falls boat, the lake ferries and the Lindt chocolate visit more than the old towns.
- 03
For groups and older parents
A guided coach package with an Arabic or English-speaking guide keeps luggage and timings off your hands.
Muslim travellers find Switzerland straightforward. Zurich, Geneva and Interlaken have halal restaurants and prayer spaces, and hotels used to Gulf guests can arrange rooms with a kitchenette. Pushchairs work well on trains and boats but not on old-town cobbles, so a carrier helps in Lucerne and Bern.
07
Schengen visa for Switzerland from the UAE
Switzerland is in the Schengen area. Most UAE residents need a Schengen visa, applied for through the Swiss visa centre when Switzerland is your main destination, meaning the country where you spend the most nights.
Checklist
- Passport valid for at least three months after your return, with two blank pages
- Completed application form and one recent photo, 3.5 x 4.5 cm on a light background
- UAE residence visa valid for at least three months after you leave the Schengen area
- Flight reservation and hotel bookings for every night of the trip
- Travel insurance for the Schengen area
- Personal bank statements for the last three months
- Employer letter, or trade licence for business owners, or an NOC for a spouse or children
The passport stays with the visa centre while it is processed. In summer, appointments fill weeks ahead, so we book the appointment as soon as you confirm the trip. The full process is on our Schengen visa from Abu Dhabi page, and we arrange travel insurance for your trip that meets the Schengen rules.
08
When to go: summer lakes or winter snow
Summer, June to August, is the main season for UAE travellers: long days, warm lakes, green valleys and the school holidays. Winter brings snow to the towns and the ski resorts. Jungfraujoch and Titlis have snow all year, so even a July trip includes a snow day.

June to August
- Weather
- Warm days, cool evenings, some afternoon storms
- Good for
- Lakes, boats, hiking, every mountain open
- Price and crowds
- Highest; UAE summer holidays and Eid
September to October
- Weather
- Mild, clear, autumn colours
- Good for
- Scenic trains, quieter mountain days
- Price and crowds
- Mid, falling after mid-October
December to March
- Weather
- Cold, snow in the valleys and resorts
- Good for
- Skiing, Christmas markets, snow for children
- Price and crowds
- High over Christmas and New Year, lower in January
April to May
- Weather
- Spring, snow melting at middle heights
- Good for
- Lower prices, waterfalls at full flow
- Price and crowds
- Lower; some lifts close for maintenance
Switzerland by season, for travellers from the UAE
| Season | Weather | Good for | Price and crowds |
|---|---|---|---|
| June to August | Warm days, cool evenings, some afternoon storms | Lakes, boats, hiking, every mountain open | Highest; UAE summer holidays and Eid |
| September to October | Mild, clear, autumn colours | Scenic trains, quieter mountain days | Mid, falling after mid-October |
| December to March | Cold, snow in the valleys and resorts | Skiing, Christmas markets, snow for children | High over Christmas and New Year, lower in January |
| April to May | Spring, snow melting at middle heights | Lower prices, waterfalls at full flow | Lower; some lifts close for maintenance |
For summer and Eid trips, book three to four months ahead and apply for the visa as early as the visa centre allows. In winter, some panoramic routes run fewer trains and mountain trips depend more on the weather, so we keep a spare day in the plan.

Questions
Switzerland trip questions
The questions UAE travellers ask us most about Switzerland. Ask yours on WhatsApp, call 02 679 8008 or visit our travel agency in Abu Dhabi at Mushrif Mall.
How much does a Switzerland tour cost from the UAE?
Jungfraujoch, Titlis and Glacier Express tickets add to the total. Summer and Eid dates cost the most.
Do UAE residents need a Schengen visa for Switzerland?
Yes, most UAE residents need a Schengen visa for Switzerland, applied through the Swiss visa centre when Switzerland is your main destination. GCC and some other nationalities are exempt.
What is a Switzerland land package?
A Switzerland land package covers everything except international flights: hotels, breakfast, rail pass or transfers, and the mountain excursions in the itinerary. It suits travellers using air miles or already in Europe.
Can I travel around Switzerland by train?
Yes, trains are the easiest way to tour Switzerland, and a Swiss Travel Pass covers most trains, buses, lake boats and city transport, with discounts on many mountain railways. We plan the itinerary around rail links between Zurich, Lucerne and Interlaken so you keep luggage moves to a minimum.
Can I combine Paris and Switzerland in one package?
Yes, Paris and Switzerland is one of our most requested combinations: three nights in Paris, a fast train to Switzerland, then four nights between Lucerne and Interlaken. It needs one Schengen visa, applied through the country where you spend more nights.
When should I visit Switzerland for snow?
Visit Switzerland between December and March for reliable snow in the valleys and resorts. High points such as Jungfraujoch and Titlis have snow all year, so summer visitors from the UAE still see it. Summer, June to August, is the main season for lakes, hikes and families, with higher hotel prices.
